Innovation Is Already Here: Superior Joins Arizona Tech Week Spotlight

As Arizona prepares for its first-ever Arizona Tech Week, communities across the state are stepping into the spotlight—and that includes rural Arizona.

Taking place April 6–12, Arizona Tech Week is a statewide, decentralized conference designed to bring together entrepreneurs, innovators, and industry leaders through events happening across both urban and rural communities.  From pitch competitions to hands-on workshops, the week highlights the future of technology, entrepreneurship, and collaboration across Arizona.

Bringing Tech to Rural Arizona

At the Superior Enterprise Center, that future is already taking shape.

Through our partnership with IDIA at the Hive, we’ve been hosting programs that bring technology, entrepreneurship, and digital skills directly to our community. These initiatives are designed to open doors by helping local residents and small business owners access tools, training, and opportunities that are often limited to larger cities.

The Hive also provides hands-on access to digital equipment including Mac computers, virtual reality headsets, 3D printers, and a podcasting studio. Through free workshops, one-on-one support, and open access to tools, The Hive is helping ensure that Superior residents have the resources they need to participate in today’s digital economy.

Moonshot Pitch Competition Comes to Superior

As part of this growing momentum, Superior will host the Moonshot Rural Arizona Pitch Competition on May 19, 2026—a Shark Tank-style event that gives local entrepreneurs the chance to pitch their ideas, gain mentorship, and compete for funding.

Open to both new ideas and existing businesses, the competition is part of a statewide tour visiting rural communities and focused on innovation and growth. Participants not only compete for local prize money, but winners advance to a state finals competition with the chance to win up to $10,000 and gain access to mentorship, investor connections, and business resources.

Even those who don’t win walk away with valuable support—every participant receives access to Moonshot’s network of education, funding opportunities, and guidance designed to help rural businesses succeed.

Why It Matters for Rural Communities

For rural communities like Superior, access to technology is more than convenience—it’s opportunity.

Programs like those hosted at the Superior Enterprise Center, combined with statewide initiatives like Arizona Tech Week and Moonshot, are helping to:

  • Expand access to entrepreneurship and innovation

  • Support small business growth and job creation

  • Connect rural communities to larger networks and resources

  • Build a more resilient and future-ready local economy

As Moonshot leaders have emphasized, rural entrepreneurs deserve the same opportunities as those in urban areas and these programs are helping make that possible.

Looking Ahead

Arizona Tech Week shines a spotlight on innovation across the state—but in Superior, that momentum is already here. Join the momentum and sign up for one of our upcoming digital classes:
