Reflecting Forward: Superior's Last 3 Years

Over the past three years, Superior, AZ has seen a remarkable journey through its State of the Town Addresses. In the first year, the town celebrated its 45th Anniversary of Incorporation, emphasizing its rich history and growth since becoming a municipality. The second address focused on the "Spirit of Superior," highlighting the resilience and unity of the community during challenging times. Finally, in the upcoming address on October 5th, 2023, the "Superior Resolve" will emerge as the central theme, emphasizing the town's commitment to overcoming obstacles and working together towards a brighter future. These addresses have not only celebrated Superior's past but also illuminated the town's unwavering determination and dedication to progress.

Superior, Arizona celebrated a significant milestone in its history with a special event marking 45 years of incorporation at the inaugural State of the Town Address on October 7th, 2021, at Besich Park. Since its official incorporation on September 7th, 1976, the town has been bustling with activities, tributes, and dedications throughout the month of October, all leading up to a momentous occasion.

The Superior Historical Society played an instrumental role by unearthing newspaper clippings and yearbooks from over four decades ago, providing a fascinating glimpse into the town's history during its early years. To engage the community further, the Town of Superior's Facebook page has been sharing historical findings and stories, enriching the connection with the past.

Mayor Mila Besich, in her own words, expressed the town's pride and excitement for this momentous occasion. The event was made possible through the collaboration of the Town of Superior and their sponsoring organization, Rebuild Superior Inc. Held at Besich Park, the event commenced with a reception and networking opportunity at 5 pm, followed by a program at 6 pm. Attendees were treated to live entertainment, presentations, an auction, and, of course, the eagerly awaited State of the Town Address delivered by Mayor Mila Besich.

In the spirit of togetherness, Superior, Arizona reaffirmed its motto, "Together we are Superior!" as it celebrated 45 years of growth, resilience, and community spirit.
